FAQ's

Personal hygiene is of the utmost importance to ensure there is no contamination getting introduced into your product from personnel who are working inside your facility. This process should always start in the changing room. A correctly designed changing room layout can be the first defense in ensuring that pathogens and contaminants are not passed from the employee to the product.

CDC Guidelines recommend the below five steps to wash your hands the correct way and prevent the spread of respiratory and diarrheal infections.

  1. Wet your hands with clean running water (warm or cold) and then apply soap.
  2. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap; this includes the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
  3. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the Happy birthday song from beginning to end twice or, alternatively, set the time on your CM Process Handwash sink to operate for 20 seconds.
  4. Rinse your hands well under clean running water.
  5. Dry your hands using paper towels or an air dryer.

Education of the importance of hand hygiene is a great starting point. A simple way of ensuring that employees wash their hands is by implementing an automatic soap turnstile prior to the wall mounted hand wash sink. The employee steps in front of the machine and places their hands in the chamber where a controlled dispensing of soap is sprayed onto the operators’ hands and unlocks the turnstile.

The operator then passes through the turnstile, which locks behind them, and walks over to the sink to wash their hands.

We at CM Process Solutions can tailor and design a layout specific to your washroom requirements. However, personal hygiene extends further than just hand washing; a well-designed layout can be the first line of defense in the fight against spreading contamination from person to person or onto product.

For instance, a hygiene station that cleans and sanitizes the soles of an operator's footwear with a turnstile ensures that employees are following a correct hygiene protocol.
