Single Column Barrel Dumpers

Operational Design

Our range of column dumpers can be supplied to handle drums, barrels or any round type of container, they can be supplied in either a stationary design or a portable version and are available in either a left- or right-handed design and with a tipping height that is specific to your individual needs and requirements.

The barrel column dumper is controlled by press to operate buttons mounted within the stainless steel column, our range of single column barrel dumpers can transport the barrel or container at a speed of 20 feet per minute and can be supplied with a tip angle of up to 55° for an efficient decanting operation.

Safety Features

Our barrel column dumpers are designed with numerous safety features as standard, such as high and low carriage limit switches to prevent overtravel of the carriage, and also a chain tensioner with a mechanical chain break safety feature which prevents the barrel from falling in the unlikely event of a chain failure.

The column barrel dumper has a pull-down retaining mechanism system, which safely secures the drum through its lift and tip cycle, the retaining system can be designed to be electronically interlocked upon request.

Sanitary Design

Our column loaders are hygienically designed and manufactured from 304 grade stainless steel and built to IP65 standards, making them suitable for the food processing industry, the column is easily accessible to the inside for cleaning and sanitation.

Our range of barrel column dumpers can be completely customized to suit your specific individual needs, all of our column dumpers can be integrated with a range of safety increased features such as full guarding or simple perimeter skeletal guarding.

The full range of column dumpers can be supplied with customized chutes to feed tumblers or any other hopper arrangement, along with different style tipping mechanisms listed below.

Roller Tipping – Allows quick drum and barrel rotation and an increased tip angle of 55°, this assists in transfer of difficult or sticky product, typical applications would be high viscosity liquids, dough and pastry products or prepared IQF vegetables.

Curve tipping- Allows a more controlled tip function up to a tip angle of 40° making it ideal for applications such as low ceiling heights, typical applications would be low viscosity liquids such as stocks, sauces or free flowing grains, powders etc.

We understand there are many options and choices for our customers when selecting a column dumper, here at CM Process Solutions we believe in long term partnerships and ensuring that our customers have complete faith in our product offerings, to support our customers we keep a constant critical supply of components at our Winchester location, however we do recommend the purchase of simple critical spare parts list so that in the event a wearable item fails the column loader can easily be placed back into production with little disruption to production.
