What a Container Tilter Replaces
Unloading a deep vat by hand means bending over the rim, reaching to the bottom, and lifting product up and out, over and over until the container is empty. It is slow work at the end of a container and hard work all the way through.
The tilter replaces that posture with a position. The container is presented at working height and angle, the operator unloads onto the table or conveyor in front of them, and the reach into the container never gets deeper than the product level. Efficiency goes up, and operator fatigue from bending and lifting out of the combo goes down.
Operational Design
The HA400 is a simple, easy to maintain machine designed to be positioned at specific locations in the plant for emptying product onto conveyors or sorting tables for further processing.
It works like a standard pallet jack. The combo or vat is simply lifted, then wheeled to its position for safe and efficient emptying. The tilter is operated by independent push to operate controls mounted on each side of the machine, and the position of the controls gives the operator a complete view of the machine in operation.
The raise and lower functions are facilitated by a stainless steel hydraulic displacement cylinder using gravity, which brings the combo or vat back down to the floor for unloading.
Capacity and Containers
The HA400 accommodates a range of containers up to a maximum height of 36 inches, tips to a maximum angle of 85 degrees, and holds a maximum combo weight of 2,200 lbs. Within that envelope sit the stainless steel vats, plastic vats, and dolav style bulk totes and molded bins that food processing runs on.
Product can be weighed in the container before it reaches the tilter using the vat and combo weigh scale, keeping batching in the container the product already occupies.
Battery or Mains Operated
The range of hydraulic stainless steel tippers and tilters can be supplied to operate from a three phase 480 V design. The most commonly supplied machine, though, is the battery operated design, which comes with a 110 V charging station: plug the machine in at the end of the shift, and it is recharged for the next working day, with no cable to manage on the floor during production.
Operational Safety

The HA400 is designed with operator health and safety at the front of mind. The dual side controls keep the operator positioned with a full view of the machine at every stage of the cycle.
Sanitary Design and Food Contact Safety
The machines are built in 304 grade stainless steel, and the combo and vat tilters are designed with sanitation and hygiene principles in mind. The cylinders are made from 304 grade stainless steel with no brass or mild steel components, allowing them to be cleaned down at the end of the shift with a caustic chemical as standard.
That food contact build is what separates a container tilter specified for food processing from general industrial tilters and upenders built for warehousing. A machine that cannot take the end of shift caustic washdown does not belong on a food production floor.
